Growing, for sure.

Well, clearly I'm losing the fight with my jeans. Breaking out the leggings and belly bands for the next couple of weeks. Not quite big enough for maternity stuff, and it's all packed. I don't want to unpack anything just to repack it when we move in two weeks.

Just looked back at my blog from my pregnancy with TheBoy. Lost the fight with some jeans at 14 weeks then (was fully in maternity clothes at 23 weeks). And had given up sleeping on my stomach by 14 weeks too... Still able to sleep on my somach now. Either I am carrying very differently or maybe the "running" I'm doing is making some sort of difference?

Busy Bees

Well, as much as I wanted to avoid it, this child is already suffering from second child syndrome. I have not posted nearly as much about this pregnancy as with my first. It's also been a crazy time in our lives.

After speaking with some home birth midwives and meeting a family practitioner who attends births, we chose the family practitioner, with whom we all felt immediately comfortable. From her interactions with TheBoy, to her mentioning Larry Bird when I told her my age (big points from TheHusband), to her personal tour and explanations of her birthing center and newborn and family care. The only potential kink is that she will be on vacation the week before my EDD. But she recommended another practitioner as a back-up who will be TheBoy's primary physician when we move.

My 16week appointment confirmed that this doctor was the right one for us. And everything looked good. Haven't gained any weight. IV's heartrate was 145. Ultrasound appointment in two weeks. Feeling consistent flutters.

We got word this week that everything is falling right into place for closing on our house right on time.

And I'm four weeks out from my third half marathon.

Oof. See? Busy.

Roller Coaster

Let's recap these past two weeks, shall we?

Last week
Sunday
Get pre-approved for a mortgage!

Tuesday - Wednesday
Play House Hunters with our agent. Look at six houses. #6 is THE ONE!

Thursday
Submit an offer. It's accepted!!

Friday
This:

This week
Monday - Tuesday
Have insane dreams nightmares about the house. Including a bathtub with a built-in toilet and a disaster of a kitchen.

Wednesday
Home inspection. Bathtub was just as we remembered it - toilet-free. The rest of the house was just as we remembered it too. Great results!

Thursday
Receive a call from midwife's office. Evidently, our new health insurance isn't contracted with the midwife's hospital. Um, excuse me?

Upon calling the insurance company, learn that they have NO midwives contracted with them in all of Massachusetts or Rhode Island. NONE.

Spiral down. Spend 2 hours crying in my office.

Reap the benefits of a supportive, patient saint-of-a-husband, friends, internet acquaintances, and social media to come up with a plan of action (likely including fighting with said health insurance company) and leads on how we can make this birth what we want. Remember, IV is still growing and healthy.

Friday
Take steps toward New Birth Plan.

Saturday
Sign the Purchase & Sales Agreement. Meet with mortgage broker to submit application.

So, you know, basically stress-free.

I have this upcoming week off. I cannot imagine it coming at a better time.
